The best Boy Lechon: Reviews & Ratings
A Triumph of Filipino Flavor: An Unforgettable Feast at Boy Lechon Tucked away as a culinary gem, Boy Lechon offers more than just its namesake dish; it provides a heartfelt and unforgettable journey into the soul of Filipino cuisine. My recent visit was nothing short of spectacular, leaving me not just with a full stomach, but with a profound appreciation for their mastery of classic dishes and their exceptional hospitality. From the moment we stepped in, the warm and inviting atmosphere was matched only by the staff's genuine, smiling service. The team at Boy Lechon operates with a seamless efficiency and a palpable pride in what they serve. They were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered fantastic recommendations that guided our feast. Now, onto the main event—the food. We embarked on a pork-centric tour de force, and each dish was a star in its own right. Pork Sisig: A Sizzling Symphony of Texture and Taste This is, without a doubt, one of the best versions of sisig I have ever had. Arriving on a hot plate with its signature, enticing sizzle, the aroma alone was a promise of greatness. The first bite confirmed it. The pork was a perfect medley of crispy, chewy, and tender bits, masterfully chopped and seasoned. The citrusy tang of calamansi, the gentle heat from the peppers, and the rich flavor of the pork itself created a complex and utterly addictive combination. Served with a crisp, cold beer, it was pure bliss. This dish alone is worth the trip. Pork Sinigang: The Ultimate Comfort in a Bowl If you need to define the perfect comfort food, Boy Lechon’s Pork Sinigang is the benchmark. The broth was the undeniable hero—a breathtaking balance of tangy, savory, and slightly sweet, with that distinct sour punch from what I believe was tamarind (sampalok) that awakened every taste bud. It was so robust and flavorful, you could taste the hours of care put into simmering it. The pork belly was fall-apart tender, and the vegetables—kangkong (water spinach), radish, okra, and eggplant—were cooked to perfection, having soaked up all the wonderful flavors of the broth. It’s the kind of dish that feels like a warm, comforting hug. Pork Afritada: A Rich and Hearty Family Classic The Pork Afritada was a beautiful, vibrant stew that tasted like a celebration. The tomato-based sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and wonderfully savory, clinging lovingly to the tender chunks of pork. The potatoes and carrots were soft and melted in the mouth, while the bell peppers added a fresh, crisp contrast. It’s a classic home-cooked meal elevated to restaurant-quality perfection, evoking a sense of nostalgia and familial warmth with every spoonful. It’s a hearty, satisfying dish that comforts and delights in equal measure. Final Verdict: Boy Lechon has mastered the art of Filipino dining. It’s not just about the incredible food, which is prepared with obvious skill and high-quality ingredients, but also about the complete experience. The harmonious combination of explosive flavors from the Sisig, the soul-soothing comfort of the Sinigang, and the hearty richness of the Afritada showcases a kitchen that truly understands and respects its craft. Paired with the top-tier, gracious service, our meal felt special from start to finish. Boy Lechon doesn’t just serve food; it serves happiness. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will undoubtedly be returning soon to explore more of their menu. A heartfelt congratulations to the entire team at Boy Lechon for creating such a remarkable dining destination
Good are taste great, I tried the bbq, mongo and Lechon, the staff are nice and friendly. Bring some extra, for sure you will buy a lot.
When my father and I walked in there were a bunch of super sweet friendly patrons and staff. They were all so friendly and helpful. Suggesting dishes to purchase. We got free samples and free sweet buns. The lechon was FANTASTIC!! Definitely check this little gem out! The food and experience was 10/10
Came here to pick up dinner yesterday and tried their lechon belly and dinakdakan as recommended by the owner and they were so good.My husband and I have been on a hunt for good filipino restaurants in NF since we moved. We finally have a go to! Thank you we’ll be back! Owner is very friendly too. Oh and the dinakdakan is supposed to look creamier but we had to warm it up so it may look differently in the pic
Great service and insanely delicious Filipino cuisine. We went for the sisig and got some delicious skewers as well. If I could give them more stars, I would. We will definitely be back again.
Like taste straight out of the Philippines. $15 for a great portion of lechon, rice and a pop is a great deal. The lechon was the right amount of juicy and crispy. The skin was crunchy and chewy as one would want. The owners were very friendly to this white guy even before I spoke Tagalog to them.
It’s usually really difficult for me to find a Filipino restaurant in Ontario, since most of them disappoint me in terms of taste. Being from Pampanga, my expectations are quite high. But when I tried their lechon and sisig, it reminded me of my hometown. The other dishes tasted great as well. I was lucky to find this restaurant here in Niagara, especially since most of the food around here is so pricey. The servers were also very nice and friendly, and the food was not only delicious but also served in generous portions.
